Chapter 2

Arjun felt as if their relationship can't be mended, no matter whatever he does. However, at the same time, he was not ready to back off without knowing the truth behind Sreemathi's accusation against him. Therefore, he asked her in a dull tone,

“You have thrown many accusations on me. But, as you say, I haven't done anything wrong. Not only that, only I can prove to you my justice and the righteousness that is upon me, if you tell me clearly what your problem is with me and why you are making such false accusations against me. As far as I know, I have never cheated or betrayed you in any way. I cannot accept all the accusations you are making when I’m not like that. You want to cut off every relation with me, right ?. Then, give me a suitable reason for it. After knowing the real reason behind your change, I will leave your life quietly. I will not cause any problems in your life. But, I won't leave here without knowing the reason for your change.”

When Arjun finished speaking, there was a lot of pain and anguish in his words, but Sreemathi didn't seem to care much about it. There was no change in her anger at all. Nor can we say she didn't feel any compassion for Arjun. She just smiled mockingly looking at him and told him in a harsh tone,

“Do you think I'm a fool ?. Do you think I'll trust you if you speak with such sadness and pain ?. I will never forget the betrayal you committed against me, Arjun. Aradhana told me everything.”

Arjun, who had been exhausted by hurt and grief until then, as soon as he heard Sreemathi utter the name of Aradhana, his facial expression completely changed. The name he hates the most in this world is Aradhana. The person he hates the most is the one who owns that name. Only complete hate and loath is filled in Arjun's heart for Aradhana.

The raw anger completely overtook the sorrow and started to guide Arjun. The raged Arjun looked like a roaring lion. Seeing furious Arjun, Sreemathi gulped her saliva in fear and uncrossed her hands. She stumbled back in a dread when Arjun questioned her furiously,

“WHAT DID SHE TOLD YOU ?.”

Arjun had never been angry with Sreemathi before, but now, seeing Arjun so angry and aggressive, Sreemathi was filled with fear. So, Sreemathi, who had been mockingly answering to Arjun until then, quickly responded to him in fear,

“She told me about your relationship with her and how you agreed to marry her after college graduation. Not only that, she even told me how both of your family secretly conducted your engagement with her.”

Sreemathi words not only caused vexation but it also increased a sadness in his heart. He clenched his first in rage and asked her as he pushed away the pain arising in his heart,

“Did you believe everything she said ?. Where did your trust in me go then ?. Don't you have a little bit of trust in me and my love ?. If someone comes and says anything bad about me, will you immediately believe it ?. You are not even ready to ask me if it is true or false.”

Sreemathi didn't like the way Arjun accused and questioned her as if she was wrong. So, this time she did not remain silent due to the fear, she expressed her fury boldly,

“TRUST. Are you talking about trust ?. Do you know the meaning of it, Arjun ?. Nor, do you have the right to talk about it ?. What are you trying to say now ?. That, I should trust you blindly and to be fooled like an idiot, regardless of all the evidence she showed me about your relationship with her. What are you thinking about me, Arjun ?. The stupid.. I understand that you've been making a fool of me for so long. But I won't let it happen to me again. I've trusted you enough to be deceived. I'm not ready to be deceived anymore. You can have a relationship with whoever you want. I don't have any problem with that. I don't even want to talk to you anymore. I don't want you to have anything to do with my life. That's it.”

Arjun realized that Aradhana plotted something against him and staged some kind of drama to keep Sreemathi away from his life. But, the thing that hurt him the most was that Sreemathi decided to leave him, trusting Aradhana instead of trusting him. It caused great sorrow and pain to his heart.

However, Arjun was not ready to let go of Aradhana's manipulation in his life so easily and he decided to teach her a proper lesson today. But, for that he needed to know clearly what she had done to cause rift between him and Sreemathi, only then he could think about what to do and act accordingly. Therefore, he asked Sreemathi in a blunt tone,

“Okay, Sreemathi, I won't cause any problems in your life after this. But, show me what proof Aradhana showed you.”

Sreemathi sneered for Arjun's words and rebuked harshly,

“Enough, Arjun. Stop thinking of me as a fool. Did you think that I would keep those photos safely and cry looking at it and lament for you ?. Never will it happen. The proof she showed is with her. Go and ask her. By the way, what are you trying to implement ?. You want to portray yourself as innocent and put all the blame on Aradhana. Stop your acting at least now, Arjun. Why do you need to get the photo from me which you took with her ?. Don't you have it ?. Don't you have your engagement photo ?. Don't you have the photos which you took whenever you went out with her ?. Please stop all this and leave me alone. I didn't expect you to be this much cunning.”

Arjun doesn't want to stand there and argue with Sreemathi anymore. Because, he felt that if Sreemathi completely trusts Aradhana, no amount of arguing with her will change anything. She doesn't have faith in their love. That's the reason for all this. Therefore, Arjun left without saying anything to Sreemathi.

Flashback Ended:

Even the chillness that arose from the heavy rain could not calm Arjun's anger as he stormed towards the college canteen. He knew Aradhana would be in the canteen. For someone like him only education is very necessary and much needed to bring out their family from poverty and to establish their livelihood.

However, for someone like Aradhana, education to show off their luxury and for pride.

All those, who consider education as a treasure for themselves and want to improve their lives, will focus on sitting in the college classroom, studying the subject taught by the professor, and getting good marks in their college academics. But, those who are like Aradhana would love to spend their college time in vain and seek enjoyment through other things. That is why Arjun was sure that she would be in a canteen now.
