Akash massaged his forehead with irritation as he tried to find a solution to resolve the tough situation he was facing.

“Damn it, no matter how deep I think I could not find any solution. What am I going to do now ?. How will I convince my father ?.” Akash murmured himself as he leaned on the chair as he looked up at the ceiling of his study room.

Akash knows that if he doesn't do as his father commanded, he will have to lose everything. From his credit card to the expensive mansion he is living in now. Everything will slip out from his hand. From company CEO position to the profit share from his family business.

“No.. No.. He can't let it happen. He has to do as his father says. He must give an heir for his family as his father asked. But, how will he do it ?.” Akash questioned himself with a heavy sigh.

Akash came out from his thoughts and replied in a cold tone by hearing the knock in his study room.

“Come in.”

Akash's eyes shot a glare to the person who entered the study room as he clenched the handrest in the chair. Her presence brought him the memories which he wished to burn away. He doesn't want to remember those days. It's paining his heart. If he didn't listen to her words, he wouldn't have lost his love, lavanya. He lost his lavanya because of her fable. To marry him and achieve her love, she didn't hesitate to badmouth about her own sister. Like a fool, he believed her and hurt his lavanya who loved him selflessly. If he didn't behave in her words and trusted his lavanya, he would have been with her when she was counting down her last days. Akash mind rewinded the last memories he had with his lavanya,

Flashback:

“ Akash.. plea.. please marry.. my sister amutha. She loves.. you truly.. Other than.. lying to you.. about me, she didn't make any mistake. Her love for you.. is pure. Believe.. me.. akash..”

Lavanya pleaded to him by holding his hand with a heavy breath. Akash's eyes filled with tears as he saw Lavanya struggle to breath steadily. He isn't able to see her like this. She was always a jovial and active girl. Even though she always finds a way to cling to him and mingle with everything he does, he never feels irritated with it. He likes to enjoy her interest in him every second. Her eyes never fail to express the love which she holds for him in her heart.

Akash shook his head and told her in a soft tone as he carefully rubbed Lavanya cheek with extreme care like she would vanish away if he did it a little forcefully,

“ No lavanya. Please don't talk about her. Because of her, I misunderstood you. Even though my heart longs to be with you, I suppressed it because of her fable. Please don't denote her craziness as love. If she really knew the meaning of love means she would not fable about you like that. I wish to kill her lavanya for snatching away my last chance to be with you. I..”

Akash stopped his sentence when he saw lavanya struggling to breath and the machine attached to her body is making * beep* beep* sound.

Hearing the beep sound of the machine, the nurse rushed to Lavanya and quickly put an oxygen mask on her and checked her pulse as she instructed another nurse to call the doctor. Unable to digest everything happening around him, Akash stood there like a statue. His heart told him that he is going to lose his love. Yet, he is not ready to accept it.

He waited there with the hope that Lavanya would come back to him.

He waited there for Lavanya to look at him and flash a toothy smile to him which she always does to him.

He waited there to hear Lavanya's voice.

He waited there to hold Lavanya's hand and place a kiss on her forehead which he loved to do.

He waited there silently for lavanya to open her eyes and say him, “She is alright”

Akash corrected his posture in a second and strode to Lavanya when she opened her eyes and flashed him a smile, like he was waiting. Lavanya removed oxygen mask regardless of nurse instruction to not remove it and uttered with a difficulty,

“Please.. marry .. my sister.. If.. you.. love.. me.. truly.. It's my last wish, akash.. please.. forget.. me.. and live.. happily.. with.. my.. sister.. Love.. you.. akash..”

*Beep*

*Beep*

That's it. He lost his lavanya. She closed her eyes without waiting for his reply “Love you too lavanya”. His words completely disappeared as the beep sound of a machine overtook it, without letting Lavanya to hear it.

Akash kneeled on the floor of emergency room and shouted with tears in his eyes,

“Love you so much, lavanya. Please don't leave me.”

Akash kneeled on the floor and looked at Lavanya's lifeless body with tears. The nurse’s were started to take out the wire attached to her body. He hissed and let out a painful moan when the nurse pulled out the IV drip needle from her hand. Little blood snoozed out from it, but her face and body didn't reach to it. He lost his lavanya because of his stupidity. He believed her sister's fable about lavanya. He didn't even try to know whether her sister’s statement about her is true or not, from lavanya. He blankly believed it.

The grief and guilt started to overtake him completely. He felt that he was the reason for Lavanya's death. He hates himself for it.

Akash moved his eyes from Lavanya's body to his cousin, Raghavan when he felt a touch on his shoulder. Akash nodded and stand on his feet with the help of Raghavan when he uttered,

“Akash, stand up.”

Akash wipes his tears when Raghavan patted his shoulder and voiced out in a hoarse tone,

“Be strong, akash. I know it's tough for you. But, think about lavanya. She never wishes to see your broken state. She always wants to be happy. So try to be strong for her.”

Akash didn't reply to Raghavan, he again turned his eyes to Lavanya to imprint her face one last time. He didn't have the strength to stay there and watch the procedure that they carried out on Lavanya's body. Therefore, he walked out of the emergency room to leave.
